Our Craft

The craft behind every Humsafar

Humsafar is worked in a cleaner zardozi than the rest of the Trousseau -- no jewel stones or ghungroos, just metal-thread embroidery and tasselled dori ties, for a pair meant to be worn more than once.

With fewer embellishments to distract from it, the zardozi itself -- its density and the line of the stitch -- is what varies subtly from pair to pair, since each is still worked entirely by hand.

Care

Keeping the embroidery in shape

•Store in the dust bag it arrives in, away from direct sunlight, when not in use.
•Keep away from water, perfume and oil-based products, which can mark the thread work.
•Wipe the base gently with a soft, dry cloth after each wear.
•Avoid folding or creasing the toe when storing, to protect the embroidery.
