India is known to have a cornucopia of handicrafts. Our handicrafts are a reflection of our country’s rich heritage and culture. Each state has generations of artisans carrying the tradition of their regional art forward. Whether it's Northern or Southern India, both are equally eminent for their art.
“Punjabi Jutti” for instance, is one such popular handicraft, from the northern parts of India. Jutti was primarily created for Royalty in India. There was a point when this art form had lost all its worth and was as good as dead. However, the sudden reinvention made the jutti relevant all over again. “The Jutti” that we all have come to love & adore so much is still being reimagined and reinterpreted, every day.
We, at Coral Haze, take immense pride in being able to contribute to the revival of this once dying art. Ever since we were just an idea in the bud, our goal was to show the world just how culturally rich our nation is, and how talented our artisans & craftsmen are. Our focus from day one was to be a Homegrown brand, and that’s precisely why we consider ourselves to be the true advocates of “Vocal for Local.”
“Support Local” aren’t just words for us, we truly intend to make a change in the creative Industry. We’ve accomplished that by generating employment for the artisans and the embroiderers from various parts of the country. These artisans and embroiderers are true pioneers of their respective craft, and without a doubt, the backbone of our brand.
Another key thing we’ve focused on since the very beginning was: using the best materials. Be it the leather for the sole of the shoe, or the base fabrics, or even the embellishments. We’ve made sure all our raw materials were sourced ethically and locally.
Our team has always had this unexplainable love for local Indian crafts, and that is reflected in our designs as well. Everyone at Coral Haze works to the best of their capabilities to set the brand apart from other homegrown footwear brands. Our designers work conscientiously on creating original, contemporary designs without losing the traditional essence of a Punjabi Jutti. Our embroiderers bring our ideas to life. They create the most intricate designs and leave us in awe of their talent, every-time. Last but not the least, our expert artisans work their magic and create the most buttery and comfortable pairs of juttis. Each pair is handcrafted and therefore you might find minor imperfections in the juttis, making them unique and beautiful in their own way.
For us, going local is the only way forward. If this pandemic has taught us one thing, it has to be this. In this time and age, we all are well aware that homegrown brands focus on quality over quantity. By wearing local you’re taking a step forward towards supporting the livelihood of the artisans, promoting sustainability, helping the country’s economy, and preserving its heritage.
